It's not a skill unlock. If you've confirmed you're pressing the correct key after checking what your keys are mapped to in the controls menu, the only other thing I can think of is to be sure you hold the button down. If you just quick tap it, both Styx and clones won't do anything. Presumably the devs want to keep people from slipping and accidentally screwing themselves over.

Thanks for the Info. Unfortunatley whistling does not work for me (yes, I'm holding the key down as in the first game). I changed it from the default to various buttons on the numberpad and none of them work although they work for other actions fine.

Would you happen to know what the default button on the keyboard was for whistling ? If I knew that I would change it back to see if it works correctly. I see no option to set the controls back to default.

Thanks

I found out. It seems to hard-coded to the "x" button. Changing it to anything else does not work, it will still be the "x" button no matter. Hopefully they fix this.

You can whistle? Damn this game needed to be a bit better at telling me the controls, I spent a lot of moments thinking 'If only I could whistle right now and lure them' instead throwin a distraction item

Master of Shadows was the same way. The tutorial will only tell you the basics so you don't fall on your face, and you need to look at the controls menu to see what abilities/actions different buttons are mapped to if you want *everything*.

Man I thought they took it out! I'm almost done with the game now what a bummer. I loved the whistle in the first game.

For me it's mapped to up on the D-pad. You have to hold it.
