The timing is likely the gog exclusivity running out, rather than anything else.
Telltale NEVER owned the right to Sam & Max. They only licensed it from Steve Purcell.
Telltale never held right to Sam & Max, infact they make games like Back to the Future, Game of thrones etc but do not own the rights. Sam & Max hit the road is an old adventure game fro mthe 90's that needs to be ''REMASTERED'' but Disney is like thick ♥♥♥♥♥ through a funnel as we say in Dutch (doesn't sound the same hehe) when it comes to making awesome plans for Remasters.
I wished they did not have all the rights to my favorite Lucas arts adventure games.
I'd like to see
Indiana Jones & the fate of Atlantis remastered
Sam & Max hit the road remastered
The Dig remstered
and most of all , the curse of monkey Island remasterd
