what is the point of the AVT 40?

just got my elite assault to veteran, and this gun seems sooooo awful, its recoil is crazy, its magazine is extremely small, and i looked up that at level 50, instead of maybe getting a bigger magazine, it gets a scope -_- the recoil is wayyyyyyyyyy to crazy for a scope.

i know this game is isnt supposed to be balanced, but it would be nice to have a mkb 44 instead

You can press 6 and it becomes select fire. Its basically an extra marksman for your team.

You should be using the automatic mode for hip-firing it in close quarters like an MG

You will get mkb later as hero, it is nice alternative for Elites on maps where battle wont be CQC all the time on every point like on Myskova or Bridges.

avt 40 is far superior to the g41 walter, just a personal opinion.

Its fully automatic and can be semi with the press of the 6 button.


Its great on large maps, being that it can double as a sniper rilfe and high levels a regular rifle at lower levels and a very fast shooting Assualt rifle at all levels.

I personally prefere the weapon. Its great and the recoil should not be a problem unless you are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ retarded and do not know hot to manage your fire rate.

So in short the point of the AVT-40 is this....
It kills the enemy very well.

AVT is very good for CLOSE COMBAT in full auto.

beyond 25m its useless, switch it to semi to be effective.

Russians used it as experiment only and suppression effect.

AVT on 50 lvl is very useful when some 10-20 lvl ♥♥♥♥♥♥ takes the sniper and can't shoot obvious targets. It gets the same PU 3.5x scope as the scoped SVT and Mosin so it's very useful when firing semi-auto on longer ranges.

It gives flexibility to the Elite Assault class, particularly on defense missions. If you are playing on maps like Tula or Winterwald, the first objectives obviously don't need an assault rifle to be defended. A sniper is a much better choice. And then you can switch to a more CQC oriented weapon later.

I believe i misunderstood your comment, are you saying that people should replace the mkb42 with the STV? Correct me if im wrong.

Mkb has only 1.5x useless scope when the AVT has 3.5x from scoped SVT and Mosin so why not to take a sniper rifle when you need it but some 12 lvl guy loaded into game before you and took the sniper-class?
