200 player server. Is that even possible ?
Can you imagine a Normandy style map with 200 players playing at the same time?

Given how mmos already have high capasity servers with 100+ players on them i reckon its possible even today.Problem is to pay the fees for running such servers the game would have to be subscription based.For a one time pay game to have such servers indeed we must wait quite some time.
I once read an article about testing such things for games in the future. If i remember correctly it consisted of various servers linked beetwen them in a unique one so that in-game there could be hundreds of players at the same time and not lag. I hope this will exist/be applied in a not so distant future,just imagine the range of epical WW2 games that can be developed this way :D.

Something like hundreds of players landings,huge campaigns,all out war and so on :3
That would be an incredible clusterf...but the current server architecture unforunately cannot support servers of above 64 players on a single CPU.

I started playing this around 2001. We had battles going on with +1000 people involved at the same time.

One day all game wil run on the same big sandbox universe on just one server.
Till that day.... lag.
And imagine ... the axis stacking then lol
If also those 200 players would be good it could even be fun but because in reality 150 of them would be noobs and 45 would be trolling and the 5 good players would be hoping it's 8vs8.
Imagine the cost of running such a server?

Nope, nope, just nope.....
the problem would be, that open maps would be impossible.

It would basically turn into a world war 1 scenario were any open attack would have 90% casualties and everybody would be in cover all the time.
And since there are no officers who can really order everybody to attack at once, it would just be a mess.

200 player maps would only work, if they increased the size of the map much more,
so when increasing the player count by 400%, the maps should increase 800%
but then only clans could fight effectively because that would need good coordination

64 slot server are idiotic too because its only an action gameplay and run and gun style with all the time the same "kill...will be killed spawn-cycle.
And you will have a 200 slot server,lol ! Sry but i think you sre a very young child who dont like play tactical and will have action ever second.Go to call of duty,thats a better game for you.

Most players dont understand that highslot server only have stupid action gameplay without any kind of tactic.

Well there is a way to bypass the 64 player limit. And no it won't cost lots more to run a 200 player server lol.

Also doggy all maps are sized for 64 players lol. They aren't cluster♥♥♥♥s.
i want 200 players on apartments.

UE3 cannot support that many people. 64 already has lag issues as is.
