I had a similar reaction to yours. For me, the Tower was simply too much to take in one go and I had to look up the solution to pass it. But if you've liked the other puzzles so far, I strongly encourage you to go on. Because this was the only instance in the game that (at least for me) felt so out of place. Sure there's plenty of challenges ahead, but I don't recall having to figure out new mechanics in such a complex fashion again. And there's A LOT of good stuff in the rest of the game.
Currently at the 5th area, the game is fantastic so far. I feel sorry for those who quit because of this puzzle.
If you know how to roll one sausage into the grill you know the trick for the rest of them as well.
Yeah I also though "Yeeeeesh, that's waaaaay tooo much" but then I sticked with it and it just worked. Maybe it was supposed to be intimidating so that you have a sandbox to learn different interactions with the sausages. I can assure you it's definitely worth it not surrendering, the game wan't become easier but nontheless I think it's satisfying solving its riddles.
I think that it is a poor placement, the puzzle would be as interesting in the middle of the world 3, but way less daunting. A spike in difficulty is great if it is coming from an interesting idea, which is not the case here.
What bothers me most is that there's no way around the level. I've done everything else in world 2, so I feel like I may as well give up.
Perhaps it would be a good time for me to try Pipe Push Paradise again, go back to Baba Is You, or start A Monster's Expedition, all of which are waiting in my Steam library.
Who knows, maybe I'll come back to Sausage Roll a bit smarter.
The thing is, it looks like more than it it really is. If you can fry one pair of sausages, you can fry all the other ones the same way.
The frying part is easy. Figuring out how to stack the sausages is the tricky part, at least for me.
I watched two videos where people rolled sausages along the walls, climbing up and down the ladders, back and forth... they were convoluted, brute-forced, and a bit lucky if you ask me.
Then, after struggling through it myself (in an equally ugly manner), I looked at a video by Erindavide, and it was a masterclass in elegance.
So it seems to me that the intended solution just wasn't clear enough, leaving most of us to flail our grilling forks around in desperation.
