on what device?
link hardware and most app, no, it will stream the full display
to another pc, it will only stream the active window, as the pc has its own desktop environment

I'm not sure how you created that shortcut, but you added --windowed to the starting location, not the target. Try right clicking on SteamLink.exe, create a shortcut, and then add --windowed in the Target box:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam Link\SteamLink.exe" --windowed
Are you sure you're running a game that's lower resolution than the client window?
Does this only work for games which are lower res than the client window? I run everything at 1080p on the host, but the client is 768p.
I'm trying to get windowed mode to work on my work laptop so I can keep an eye on my work chat apps and do other stuff in the remote client window.
I personally use it to play Genshin Impact at 1080p and as a replacement for RDP.
If you're wondering how to resize the window when it has gone Full Screen:
* hit WIN+TAB
* Right click on the window labelled "Steam [Streaming]" (the title will change based on what you're running at the time)
* Choose one of the 'Snap' menu items
* Steamlink will act like a normal Window - you can grab the title bar, drag borders around, etc.
I'm sure there are other ways to deal with Full Screen but this works for me.
I'm seeing this as well, looking into it, thanks!
This is fixed in 1.1.86.
