Apple TV No Rumble in Games

I've been using my Xbox Series X controller on iOS and Apple TV fine and at least on iOS, most games pass through rumble to the controller without much issue. However, on Apple TV I do not get rumble in any of the games I tried. Rumble does work on the Apple TV on the controller testing screen.

This is an issue with the latest App Update (1.1.82). Vibration is not working anymore on Apple TV since 3 days now. I realized that an app update for Steam Link is available on my iPhone (Apple TV installs the update automatically; my iPhone doesn‘t). So I tested Steam Link on my iPhone with the old App Version (1.1.81) and vibration worked as always. Then I updated the app to 1.1.82 and voilà vibration doesn‘t work anymore. Though it is not possible to enable any vibration settings in the controller settings in Big Picture anymore. The setting suddenly disappeared. Also the „Identify“ button disappeared. Hence this issue is a bug of the latest release. So dear Valve: please fix. Thank you!

Hmmmm, I don't have any issues with steam link on iOS or iPadOS with vibration. It just seems to occur on apple TV. The only other controller I tried on apple TV was the steam controller, but that did not have issues with vibration.

Huh that‘s weird. Are you using the same controller on iOS / iPadOS as on Apple TV (i.e. series x)? Did you check if you‘re using the latest app version on iOS and latest iOS as well? I‘m gonna try another controller (xbox one) on my other Apple TV this evening. Maybe it‘s an issue with the series x controller.

Yes, I'm using the latest version for the apps and it is the same series X controller for iOS/iPadOS and Apple TV.

Alright I tested vibration on my other Apple TV with both xbox one and series x controller. With no success. Vibration isn‘t working anymore with the latest release of the app. I‘ve again tested with my friends Steam Link app which was still on 1.1.81 and vibration worked perfectly. However, I‘m a little confused because vibration is still working on your iOS device using the latest app and iOS version since I could reproduce the issue by updating to the latest version on two different devices now.

Actually, I just tested again with 1.1.8.2 and it appears that vibration no longer works for my Series X controller with iOS.

Thanks for the heads up. So again: dear Valve please check and fix the changes you made for the controller / rumble settings in latest app update. As written, rumble worked just fine on 1.1.81. In 1.1.82 rumble and the corresponding settings as well as the „identify“ button in Big Picture are completely gone.
