Steam Link

How do I stop streaming or exit steam link?
I'm streaming Civ 6 and I often hop back and forth from host and client. Just using a keyboard and mouse. Shift+Tab brings up the standard overlay (tbh I can't tell if it's bringing up the host or client overlay) and I can't find anything there to stop the stream without exiting the game.

Hmm, maybe it's an issue with Civ VI in particular, but I don't think the winkey did anything. I'll have to try again tomorrow.

or alt+tab, or winkey+d

Assuming that you are using a Steam Link client and not just another PC running Steam and acting as client, the overlay should always be that of the host as the overlay is a part of 'real Steam' and not the thin Steam Link client. You can also tell from the fact that the overlay itself shows signs of the in-home streaming video compression.

You can call up the Big Picture overlay on either end of the connection, go to the start screen and click the 'Power' button in the top right corner to get a menu. IIRC the top most item says "Stop Streaming".

If I stop streaming, I can't figure out how to exit SteamLink without a keyboard (alt+f4 worked). They should add an exit menu that can be selected with a controller

Do you get a tip to hold the Escape key?
