Touchscreen right-click issue
Some games are well suited to play with just the touchscreen, but on a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 at least it’s unfortunately virtually impossible to right-click. (This is not game-specific as I also tested it in the desktop view.)

I’ve tried the two-finger tap in a wide variety of ways (different timings, different relative positions and separations), and it registers a right-click maybe once in twenty or thirty attempts. I think most of the time it’s mistaking it for a minute pinch-to-zoom gesture. It could potentially be related to the Note 4 having a very high DPI display?

Less important, but I’m also not sure where the right-click would land if the gesture was working. Directly between the two touch points might be OK, but I suggest that it would perhaps be easier to control by placing one finger on the screen at the intended click point then quickly tapping with a second finger soon afterwards? (Or even vice versa.)

The three-finger tap to bring up the keyboard works every time for me, by the way.

P.S. Galaxy Note devices actually have a alternate-click function on their stylus. It’d be really nice if that was able to be supported.

It is actually supposed to work the way you describe. Tap where you want the right click (it'll generate a left click) and then tap another finger to generate the right click.

I'll contact Samsung and ask about the alternate click function.

Thanks!

Thanks!

Just confirming that two-finger-tap attempts definitely are being taken as pinch-to-zoom or two-finger-drag gestures at least some of the time, since the screen is often moved slightly. Might just be that the gestures need to be made DPI-independent or similar.

Same issue on s9+

Still broken on high-DPI phones in version 1.1.11. Tapping *extremely lightly* with two fingers *simultaneously* works about one time in five, but then you can’t predict which tap point will be chosen as the click location. Anything else is interpreted as a pinch-to-zoom gesture rather than a right-click. The three-finger tap gesture to bring up the keyboard works every time.

(Samsung SM-N910G Android 6.0.1)

Edit: An option to disable pinch-to-zoom entirely would likely solve the problem, and ideally could also allow for right-dragging which is necessary in games like Shenzhen I/O.

Same problem on a Galaxy tab S3 (on Oreo), right click is taken as a pinch to zoom... Making a lot of games just unplayable.

I really don't see the point of this pinch to zoom feature but maybe some people use it so maybe an option to disable it would solve the problem?

Just adding that the on-screen MB2 button on the new touch controller provides a workaround (enable beta participation in the Steam client settings). Removing all other controls, including the trackpad, works pretty well for some games — you can even right-drag. (Unfortunately some other issues still make it rather unsuited for Shenzhen I/O, e.g. the Enter key closing the keyboard.)

Of course, it’d still be ideal for the two finger touch gesture to also work as intended.

Thanks for the tips! It's a good workaround for now
