Can you use something more recent than Android 5 for your cyanogen install?
Where will I locate the strack trace, im assuming its logged to a file somewhere - if anyone can point me in the right direction im happy to dig it out.
As for the nexus 7 - its v old with unlocked boot loader, that version of cyanogen is the latest i believe - its not really worth messing about with at this stage, as not keen on bricking it.
I think the newer tablets have locked boot loaders - just the v old ones that were rooted way back when were upgradable hence why im stuck on the fire OS on the 10 - that said its fully rooted with all the amazon stuff disabled now and custom launcher (plus google market etc).
cheers

That's what'd probably be most useful to slouken and team when there's a crash.
It looks like your device isn't able to keep up with 1080p. Maybe try the "Fast" setting, or dropping the resolution to 720p in the advanced streaming settings in the app?
First thing done was to update to latest android client (it noted fixing crash issues on fire HD10) - this didnt actually help and same issues as before.
Regarding your point above, I had tried at 720 and with fast (well all in fact) the quality settings, same issues, however I also then figured I would try a few more, and found the following:
HVEC enabled
network cap: 3mbps
resolution: 480p
using these I noticed a couple of crashes as above, a couple of times where the app loaded but with a black screen (i have screen caps below of the stats, plus logs again), then 1 in 5 attempts there was a green flash of screen got through to the Big Picture desktop (so essentially worked).

full log (think this had all 3 examples, crashes, stuck at black screen with working controller, and made through to big pic):

from client - stuck on black:

from client - working big pic (480p)

When i eventually managed to get it to big picture, I started messing with the client option from within big picture its self, and under "advanced client options" - unticking enable hardware decoding brought back one of the black screen examples above and made it visible.
From there - I then started changing the res, and bandwidth caps from big picture on the pc - setting these as above (1080, balanced, auto etc) - now allows the client to load correctly every time to big pic (and in game):
