But Why?
Is Samsung the problem or Valve/Steam?
This was the best App for TV's :(
Same problem here. Very disappointed with the 65" Q60 Samsung TV I just got.
No Steam Link, probably because some deal they made with GeForce Now or Xbox so you HAVE to pay for the signature.

NOT gonna happen.
So what is going on. Aren't Valve the app developers? Did samsung refuse to allow it on the store because of streaming competition?
Thanks for the information, Slouken.

Do you think there's any chance of further elaboration?

It's never really been fully clear who was responsible for supporting the app: Valve, Samung, or the 3rd party who wrote it? Are you aware that the Samsung TV app store still point to Valve for support for the Steam Link app?

Will the Steam Link app on older Samsung TV models continue to be supported or is it now end-of-life? (As you probably already know there's a major bug since TV firmware version 2111 where the right stick on any/all game controllers now operates the TV volume in addition to playing a game, which is a bit of a problem!)

So, it seems that it’s not only with me..
this is a real bummer, and there’s no information anywhere regarding this.
I’ve tried with/without cable on my Xbox One S controller and this Right Stick Volume-Mute issue persists.
I’m assuming this is an issue with the Steamlink App, because on the Xbox app, there’s no such thing.

@slouken, or If anyone has any information towards this, would be very helpful.

The issue is that the XBox and NVidia apps were created taking into account the new firmware feature and can turn that volume control off, whereas the Steam Link app hasn't been updated (in ages.)

The possibilities are-

* TV firmware update to resolve the issue, or
* Steam Link app update to resolve the issue

My strong suspicion is that neither are going to happen. :(
Super pumped to get a new TV with high refresh rate to game and discover no steam link. Now have to drag the pc to connect. I mean it's an app why is steam not capitalizing on this? Making your library easily available on any TV on the network.
Why? I can have it on my qn90A but not my s95b >:/
Bought a 2023 Samsung TV since I heard it has Steam Link support. Reading it's only up to 2021 models is frankly ridiculous...
Can someone from Valve give any real information on what the issue is? If the problem is on Samsung side, can someone from Valve give us enough information for us to go claim in Samsung support with that information so that they can't direct us back to Valve? Otherwise we have to think the problem is on both ends. @slouken
