Samsung TV Steam Link Release!

Samsung has released a free Steam Link app for their 2016 and 2017 Smart TVs.
You can find it by searching for Steam in the Smart Hub app store.

Please make sure that your TV firmware is updated to the latest version for the best experience.

Supported Controllers:

• Steam Controller
  
• Xbox 360 wired and wireless
  
• Xbox One wired
  
• Logitech F510/F710

Known issues:

• Rumble on Xbox controllers causes a lag spike

Glad I read this, just got a un43ru7100fxza and saw the steam link app link on steam on pc. got super excited, didn't see app on samsung app store, was about to manually install a 1061.2 firmware file from samsung over the current 1064 on it hoping a rollback would fix it. Saved myself from possibly bricking a new tv xD. Hopefully samsung puts the app back on! Wanna try some 4k gaming on my rtx 2080 without running another hdmi around the walls.

A little update on this one.
I got an answer from Samsung, and they said this:

You've been in contact with us regarding Steamlink for Samsung TV.
We just got the information that there seem to be an compatibility issue with 2019 models.
There will be an fix for this in the next firmware update that will be released in July.

So Steam Link will return, we just have to wait a while :(

About the controller support, I really hope that I didn't order 8Bitdo adapter for nothing, if Samsung is bringing more controller support for those TV's.

I'm sorry about that. Valve asked us to use SDL instead of our own input device manager, but after then rumble could not work because of device's permission issue. We are still trying to fix this.

I finally got my hand on into 8BitDo wireless usb stick. After firmware upgrade, paired Dual Shock 4 into it on PC and then moved the stick into my TV --> works perfectly. However, seems that at least with DS4, you cannot change the colour of the light on the controller at all, it uses the default green.

Any idea cause gamepad doesnt work in origin games (FIFA 19) ? Steam link is a headache, why so difficult app? Moonlight works perfect but I always come back to steam to see if the app has improved.

Pretty sure this is because Steam Link relies on Steam Input, which is extremely hard if not impossible to pass for the game unless the game is launched trough Steam specifically.
That's why the whole idea behind Steam link is to play games trough Steam specifically.

As Origin games has to be launched trough Origin specifically and cannot be added as non-steam game into steam, that's what's causing the issue.

You can try googling for instructions how to use Steam Input/Steam Controller with Origin games and see if that helps.

You can add non-Steam games to Steam, but some of them require a bit of work and knowledge, even some simple .bat scripts. I've succesfully added Sims 4 into Steam, even thou it only works through Origin. Also, I've added non-Steam GTA V into Steam and controllers work on that too.

I bought a new Samsung, model from 2019 and it's impossible to find the Steam Link APP. Searching I saw that Valve removed it, but is there any way to install it? Any idea about when will they put it again? Is it possible that they will never put the app again?

The tv has bluetooth for controllers and 5ghz wifi. Since it is a UHD tv with quad core processor, it should support steam streaming.

Samsungs finnish facebook rep responded with similar message, there's problem with 2019 models which is why the application has been taken down and eta for getting it back is at the end of summer.

Still extremely annoying, no better eta.
