Samsung TV Steam Link Release!

Samsung has released a free Steam Link app for their 2016 and 2017 Smart TVs.
You can find it by searching for Steam in the Smart Hub app store.

Please make sure that your TV firmware is updated to the latest version for the best experience.

Supported Controllers:

• Steam Controller
  
• Xbox 360 wired and wireless
  
• Xbox One wired
  
• Logitech F510/F710

Known issues:

• Rumble on Xbox controllers causes a lag spike

Please add support for JU6400 UHD TV
The tv has bluetooth for controllers and 5ghz wifi. Since it is a UHD tv with quad core processor, it should support steam streaming.

Well it looks like it has that same basic Tizen OS, which does have Steam Link app support (I have 2017 model with that same OS and have Steam Link app on it). Lower end Samsung TV's uses Tizen, while high end models use Android. Both have Steam Link app available.

Has the app been pulled?

I was going to use this on my Samsung Q90 today, but I got the message that the app was pulled and will be deleted. I have used before on the same TV, so this must be recent.

And now I can't find it on the Samsung App store anymore.

Can you tell me more about this? I hope it returns.

I just bought my new tv and just disappeared samsung does not know about the removal of the app my model is 43ru7105 :(

I searched for info about this, seems that the problem is on the TV, not Steam app. Samsung has stated that people probably need to do cold boot for the TV. And hopefully Samsung is investigating this issue.

Cold boot doesn't solve the issue. Steam Link App has disappear from Samsung Store :((

Hello, I found on reddit that one user had same issue, he contacted Samsung directly.
Here is the answer:
The Steam Link app was pulled from the app store because of an issue with connecting to controllers. The decision was made to make the app entirely unavailable until a fix is ready to go. The updated app should be back "sometime this summer," but that it could be anywhere from days, to weeks, to months before that happens. They have no concrete timeline.

Well it could be that they are improving the controller support ? Which is always a good thing obviosly. Shame that they had to pull it out completely, sounds odd to me.

One of the main reasons why I got the samsung was because of build in steam link feature and now, even though the app is installed and should work just absolutely fine, I cannot use it?
