My Steam Link works great on my phone and on my tablet, but on my Ubuntu 16.04 after I get the green checkmarks for my gaming computer and my controller and hit "Start Playing" I get the black screen with just a steam logo in the middle, which looks promising, but then it just goes back to the first screen again. Any ideas?

I checked the log that you posted and I was not able to find any particular issue.

Does your PC have only the Intel integrated GPU or does it have a dedicated AMD/NVIDIA GPU?
Which version of Flatpak? You can check it with "flatpak --version"

I have the same issue. I'm using a ThinkPad x131e Chromebook with GalliumOS. This model has a Ivy Bridge Celeron 1007U with integrated GPU (Intel HD Graphics). It has 4GB RAM running at 1600MHz.

When I first installed the Flatpak (the latest version available right now) I received a couple of unspecified errors when installing. I've uninstalled/reinstalled a few times, but no improvement. I'm wondering if the uninstall process does not fully remove all files since subsequent installations complete almost instantly. Those files that are not removed may be corrupted.
