Steam Link

Gamesir X2 Controller + SteamLink iOS = locked controls
I'm using an iPhone 13 Pro (15.0.2) and a GameSir X2 Bluetooth with Steam Link ios app.

I can choose games and start them just fine, but after a few moments of playing the controls seem to lock up and the only way to get back control is via disconnecting the Bluetooth connection and sometimes restarting the Link app. Again this only works for a short time till they lock up again.

I did do a firmware update to 2.16 and it does seem to have something to do with the "Left-Trigger" that using that button will cause an issue, even simply just pressing it, does not need to be a combination of that.
I have tried turning on Generic Controller but this did not work for me.

On Android with Steam Link it works fine.Xbox S controller on the iPhone it works fine.Native iOS Games it works fine.

But something with the combination of the GameSir X2 and Steam Link for iPhone, just seems to have issue and only allows me to play for a few seconds at a time. Any ideas

@slouken
I just installed Rainway on my iPhone and had no controller issue streaming a game.

if the controller works for the link app, and bpm, its a mapping issue for that game

begin streaming -> steam -> settings -> controller -> [general]
select a controller -> identify -> properties -> give each a unique name (ex. tv xbone black)
then when binding controls for bpm/dekstop/chord or each game you can select the controller to bind
steam -> library -> select game -> controller config

What game are you playing? I just tried it here with Slay the Spire and didn't have any issues.

Does it lock up when you're in Big Picture mode as well?

I haven't updated the firmware, I'll try that next.

I did notice that after the firmware update, a bunch of the controls were in turbo mode (quickly flashing in the Steam Link app controller test panel)

I held the Turbo button and A for a few seconds and that seemed to turn off turbo, but I could easily see if you have the left trigger in turbo mode that it might cause some issues in certain games, or possibly expose a bug in the Steam Link app.

I was able to reproduce it by holding down the G button and the trigger at the same time.

It does seem related to turbo mode:

I think that "might" of fixed it, I just did a complete round of hot wheels with no issue. let see if it holds up on a few other games.
