Steam Link build 821
We've just released an update to the Steam Link firmware.

Changes:
  • Select low latency mode on wired Microsoft Xbox Series X controllers
  • Added experimental support for the Xbox Series X controllers over Bluetooth. This requires you to upgrade your controller to the latest firmware using an Xbox or the Xbox Accessories App on a PC, and then perform a Steam Link Bluetooth reset. Initial pairing doesn't always work and Microsoft is working on a controller firmware update to make this more reliable.
  • Added support for the full line of PowerA Series X controllers
  • Added support for the PowerA Nintendo Switch Fusion Arcade Stick
  • Added a reset button to the Bluetooth panel that clears all pairings and resets the Bluetooth radio

Since this update my PowerA wired controller no longer works with the steam link. It detects that it is plugged in and the light on it works but no inputs are detected while streaming or on the link's start page. It doesn't show any inputs during testing in the controller setup part either but the controller works fine with my xbox and my pc. It worked fine with the steam link yesterday.

Which specific PowerA controller do you have?

Not a bug, you should have gotten a dialog letting you know the Steam Link will restart. Did that happen?

there was a prompt

iirc on the beta, it cleared the list and put it in pairing mode again

Tried this with my xbox series X controller after updating the firmware. Reset steamlink bluetooth. Attempted to pair, steamlink said the controller was paired, however the controller was still flashing in pairing mode. Never paired. Attempted this about 10 more tries before I gave up.

UPDATE: Apparently the xbox accessories app did not update the firmware properly the first time as I tried again and it wanted me to update. After doing so it works fine with the steamlink. I guess what I experienced is a controller with older firmware. Hope this helps others.

There's an old bug, which was never fixed so far.

When there is a new firmware upgrade and it's time to reboot to install it, if you have a USB Key plugged in, it tells you to remove it before continuing.. A pop-up button comes up and there's the "A" letter to press to dismiss it, but controller isn't working at that point (no inputs are registered, or so it seems) and I always have to turn my KB on and hit "Enter" to proceed.

well that was fun. Now I did go to 821 and the stuttering is back, complete with arbitrarily set mbps limits on both sides. I know i unchecked intel card, cuz there is no computer w/ that as the primary.

I'm having this same issue with two Power-A Xbox one wired controllers, is there any way to resolve it?
