  • Re-enabled burst bitrate limiting to fix packet loss on Gigabit networks
  • VirtualHere support has been improved with an optimized build
  • Added support for Steam Link apps, built with a forthcoming SDK

  • Added an option to save debug logs from the system settings panel

Changes in build 437:
  • Added audio settings panel (in preparation for future 5.1 surround support)
  • Set the name of the device to "Steam Link" in TV source menus

Changes in build 410:
  • Disabled burst bitrate limiting to isolate whether it is causing stuttering for some customers

Oyy! perfect update, what did you do?) In buld 406 - i have 5-6 audio lags in 5 min gameplay, in this build 408 - have only 1-2 audio lags in 5 min! My log - http://pastebin.com/yWNNEQ1q

They are still there, but much better.

You are getting SlowNetworkPercent and very high ping times. What network setup are you using?

I have a managed gigabit switch. I'm wired.

I had a lot packet loss (1 or 2%) when streaming at beatiful. After research I found that if I configured flow control "on" in my gigabit switch then the packet loss was zero.

When I saw build 406 and gigabit fix in the changelog I disabled flow control and I kept having zero packet loss.

This new build have again packet loss with flow control disabled. I have to enable it or configure my nic on 100mb mode.

I reverted to non beta. It's fine again.

Truthfully that sounds like your switch isn't able to handle the bursty traffic. Enabling flow control is telling your HOST PC to stop sending data for a moment because the pipe is backed up. The pipe is backed up because of the switch itself. Once the data leaves the switch it doesn't have any idea if that frame was successful or not. I can almost guarantee that it's not the steam link itself sending the PAUSE frames.

Edit: I'm curious what would happen if you could plug your link directly into your PC and with flow control off in the adapter settings.

PC > ethernet cable > Router > ethernet cable > power line > ethernet cable > Steam Link

It was fine before (384/488), only the recent updates brought those troubles with them. :(

My managed switch is a tp-link TL-SG108E. I purchase this since it has igmp snooping and I need it to avoid problems with ip multicast tv.

I have tested with my old non managed switch and I have not packets loss. It's a also a tp-link but a cheap model. :)

Anyway, I need my managed switch. But it's funny that the cheap model works fine.

Does the steam overlay work in ACU? If not, try to disable uPlay overlay and try again.

I've disabled the overlay in uPlay, gives a extra problem because when u start ACU, uPlay promps u that the overlay has been disabled for this game (cant click it away with the controller). After clicking that away on my pc, the game starts on my PC. On the PC screen it is normal at my TV is see: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0oeepui3vtgexpw/2015-12-11%2016.08.56.jpg?dl=0

As you know, powerline adapters are very sensitive to interference. What ping times do you get from your PC to the Link when you are not streaming. While streaming you are getting between 40ms and 60ms and this hints to a problem with the powerline adapter.

Those times were way lower before all those updates so I have no idea what happened. :(

Oke when the screen stays black with the white block in it i tried to ALT-TAB it and when u do that u return to steam. So that works ALT-TAB back and the screen is black no white to be found. When i ALT-ENTER to put the game in windowed mode that works the game is visible at the TV only the controler wont work. The game keeps saying "press any button to start". The input on the computer functions but no input from the controller is accepted.
