Steam Link Will Not Boot Past Loading Screen
After first setting up my Steam Link I turned it on.
A blue Cloud with a steam link logo appeared on the screen but nothing happened after that. I left the steam link running and connected to the internet overnight, but nothing happened. The Steam Link also was not supplying power to any usb devices at all.

I had the same problem.

I managed to get it to boot. Plugged in 360 controller, powered off by pulling the cord. Pressed and held the A button, and plugged it back in while holding A. Booted fine this time. Unsure of the cause, though you might want to try this.

Also there's a post I've seen which says to format a USB stick (FAT16 or FAT32 formatting I think) and place a text file called factory_reset.txt on the root of it, with a single character in the file (so it's at least one byte in size), e.g. a "1". Then insert the stick to one of the USB ports and power up. If mine fails again, I'll try this.

Apparently that should revert it to stock firmware, but I can't say for sure.

I don't have a 360 controller, but I have tried the USB reset, but my light in the USB was not receiving power.

Different controllers wont help as your not even getting to the controller input screeen. This solution worked for me but may or may not help you.

There are a small handful of TVs that do not work directly out of the box and you MIGHT have to use an alternate tv or monitor to do the needed software updates before plugging into the tv in question.

In my personal experince I have two virtually identical Vizio tvs from the same product line , one is 40" and one is 47". Out of the box the link would not connect to my 47" , it would show the steam link icon. It did however connect fine to my 40" , and after waiting for the software updates to load i was able to immediatly use it on my 47".

I've also plugged it into my PC monitor and routed it through a powerlink adapter to the router. The same screen appeared, but I only left it on for about 20min.
Welcome to the club! Lots of folks around here with the same problem. A different HDMI cable has fixed it for some (not me). My support ticket has gone unanswered for almost two weeks now! The only reason I haven't returned immediately is the stickied thread at the top of this forum says they are "working on it".

Dinosaur, when you plug your Steam Link in, does it go from the logo screen to a black screen, or does it stay on the logo screen? If it stays on the logo screen, it's busted, please get an RMA ASAP. If it goes to a black screen, can you let us know the model of your TV and which port you're plugging it into on the back?

Thanks!
Just to give you guys more information, my Steam link DID fix itself without 1. Changing HDMI cables and 2. Changing HDMI ports. I tried with a separate monitor and 2 different HDMI cables and this gave me the same problem. Both my TV and Monitor are Samsungs.

Again, for me the solution for me (I think) was a restart whilst pressing A however I have no evidence that this actually fixed it or whether it was coincidental.

I did however 2 nights ago switch it to public beta mode. I've since switched it back; maybe this is the cause?

I'm using an Acer H5360, plugged into the only HDMI 1.3 port it has. It goes immediately to a black screen after showing the boot logo for a few seconds, then the projector cycles through the other inputs, as if it lost the HDMI signal.

As per the support ticket I've opened, I've tried 6 different HDMI cables, beta builds 388 and the most recent using a USB stick, wired and wireless connections, an XBOX 360 controller and a Logitech rumblepad2. None of these efforts have had any effect.

It is a 720p projector so you should try the fix suggested in the latest release notes:
Added the ability to force 720p output by putting the word 720p in a file on a USB drive at \steamlink\config\system\display_resolution.txt, inserting it into the Steam Link and then power cycling the Steam Link

Thanks, but tried that already. The projector has a native 720p resolution but downscales 1080p just fine with my many other devices.

I had the same issue as OP - disabling windows aero fixed it for me (thanks to the chap on this forum who mentioned it).

so this has not been resolved? I have actually the same problem like Dinosaur!!! ...

I have this exact issue. It's worked in the past on a different LG TV but now I just get the logo for a few seconds then the TV goes to like it's not recieving an input.
It happened to me today, and turns out after 1 hour of frustratingly trying to find a solution, all it needed was a different hdmi cable...

Glad it's working for you again. I've not had any issues with mine since updating the firmware, but then I don't use it much now.
