Steam Link beta build 882

There are many many changes in this build, so please let me know if you run into any issues!

Changes in build 882:

• Fixed 8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth controller disconnection when using the 2.4GHz dongle

Changes in build 880:

• Steam Link will stay asleep instead of waking up periodically to check for updates

Changes in build 878:

• Fixed audio device hotplug support

Changes in build 877:

• Improved UI for collecting debug logs

Changes in build 876:

• Continued to improve audio latency
  
• Fixed crackly Bluetooth audio when microphone is disabled (still crackly when microphone is enabled)
  
• Fixed USB audio going silent
  
• Fixed Moonlight crashing at launch introduced in the previous build

Changes in build 875:

• Steam Link is more responsive when waking up in response to key presses and Bluetooth controller connections
  
• Fixed issue where the sleep function would stop working after a period of time

Changes in build 873:

• Fixed audio latency introduced in build 871, adding improved resilience to variable network conditions

Changes in build 872:

• Fixed detection of Steam Controllers, which regressed in the last build

• Improved reliability of Remote Play Anywhere
  
• Fixed rare case of the connection hanging when starting to stream
  
• Fixed virtual controller buttons in the controller overlay
  
• Fixed Xbox One LED not lighting up when waking from sleep mode
  
• Added support for many controllers, including the 8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth controller

• Steam Link no longer unpairs from previous accounts when pairing to a new Steam account on the same computer

Very pleased to see youre still looking after the hardware steamlink! I still use it and i still get the bug where it refuses to go to sleep after some time (a few days ish) between its last power cycle, im willing to help if i can

Appreciate the continued updates. Just wanted to submit two issues I had with the new beta build 871.

1. I'm getting "double inputs" or "faster inputs" with the new beta build. This happens in the Steam Link UI, so trying to navigate the UI of the Steam Link is very jumpy. I had to roll back to the public build to solve the issue.

2. Another issue I am getting is the auto connect/power on with a Steam Controller doesn't seem to be working. After upgrading to beta 871, when pressing the steam button on my Steam Controller it no longer starts the Steam Link. I had to try to "re-pair" every time to get the Steam Link to detect the Steam Controller and turn on/enter the UI. This issue is more hazy to me, I'm not sure if I'm getting forced into BLE mode or dongle mode. It seems I'm getting into BLE mode as I had to use "Steam + Y" button to re-connect to the steam link. This issue also went away when I rolled back to the public build.

I believe these are both fixed in build 872. If you're still seeing doubled inputs, can you let me know what controller you're using?

I’m getting a lot of audio out of sync issues since newest beta update. Going to have to roll back to public build. Shame

Hi there. Also getting audio lag (about 500-1000 ms) since the latest update today on my Steam Link official hardware - which I thought was discontinued, but happy to find out it still gets updates, just this one isn't it for me. My PC has all the latest audio drivers installed, running AMD Ryzen CPU.

yeah i went to public build and working. so its the update for sure

also can we get the option for higher bitrates than 30 please and to disable vsync on steam link side. Im praying for these. please say if can be done

Build 872 has fixed my issues. I'm using two Steam Controllers, both model 1001.

Also I have a theory why I had double input issues. By using "Steam + Y" to try to connect my Steam Controller to the Steam Link, I connected it twice. Once via BLE and once via the built in dongle.

Can you try out build 873? I think this is fixed now.

Problem I had with the new beta build 873:
When I connect the 8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth controller to the Steam Link using its dongle, it takes a few seconds to connect, then it works for about 30 seconds and turns off.
If I connect the dongle directly to the PC, this doesn't happen, so it's not a problem with the controller.
I suspect this happens because it connects the controller twice, once via Bluetooth and once via the dongle.
I'm using the controller in wireless mode, not bluetooth btw
