Audio Issue with PS4 Controller
I'm having a bizarre issue with sound on the Steam Link. It works perfectly all the time except when I plug in a PS4 controller.

Sound plays when I connect a PS4 controller over Bluetooth. Sound plays with a PS3 controller on both wired and Bluetooth. As soon as I plug in a PS4 controller it mutes. I unplug it and the sound starts playing again.

Anyone else having this issue with a PS4 controller? It's the new version that comes with the Pro/Slim. I can't test with the old version since I don't have one.

I'm having the same issue except for me it won't work on either Bluetooth or wired connection. This is probably a new issue for the new version of PS4 controllers and it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying. So far I've found or hear nothing on any solutions. I hope steam does a patch or something.

Try switching to the beta firmware in the Steam Link system settings?

I have the exact same issue, as soon as i connect my PS4 controller i don't have any sound from my speakers on PC. However i found the solution to this and i just want to add it here in case someone else has this problem and ends up here Googling it up.

Windows is recognizing the DS4 as headphones. Right click on the sound icon on your taskbar and go to playback devices. Right click the headphones and disable it.

FIX!!! First you want to right click on your audio button and click "open playback devices." When you connect your ps4 controller via usb, it might mark the controller as the audio output. right click on "speakers" and set it as the default audio player. that should work and if it doesnt, apologies.

Awesome thank you for posting, this solved my issue.
i found this thread wondering how to enable the audio portion of the controller on steam. did you do anything special to get it detected as a audio bluetooth?

I have this problem again, everything used to be fine, but recently the sound disappeared when I connect headphones and the dualshock 4 gamepad to my TV at the same time to the TV via Bluetooth :steamsad:
