Oh yeah everyone having "issues," probably dont have their router configured properly because they lack the basic ability to research the setup. But they have no issues decorating their profiles, whining and dining. GG
While I certainly appreciate your teams efforts, let me tell you this: All smart TVs are "badword".
I and many others have zero interest in using any feature of any TV execpt for it beeing a big screen. No WiFi, no Bluetooth, no DLNA, no apps no NSA recording every conversation in my livingroom (thats not a joke, sadly). So even if my Sony TV had a Steam Link app, I would still deny to use it or even to activate the WiFi for the TV.
While I can see usecases where someone would want to use only the TV with no other attached devices, for me and many others TVs should be just big screens. Games, movies, music, apps, optical and streaming media, thats what external boxes (that can be upgraded and switched easily) are for.
So, what would it take me to bribe you into developing a Steam Link UWP app for the XBOX One family?
I use an XBOX as my one and only mediacenter device and it works great for me, living in germany where I can even replace cable TV with an app (Zattoo). Games however, is something that I personally can see no point buying and playing within the XBOX ecosystem. I tried a few: Diablo III which has a diffrent control mechanic on XBOX (boring), Star Wars Battlefront which isn't availiable on Steam (slow as hell), Gears of War 3 (i can't, for the life of me, figure out how someone can enjoy shooters without a mouse) and NHL Hockey (finally: the one game to rule the box, this one is actually a perfect fit for the XBOX).
So if Valve could bring peoples steam libraries to XBOX via an UWP app (Microsoft would earn themselves a viable "badword"storm if they would block such an app...) you could shake things up quite a bit there for the console market.
I would really apreciate your feedback on this one! :)
Regards,
Toby
Is your ethernet has identical network environment with wi-fi; do they share network condition with same router? If so, it could be an issue with the LAN/ethernet itself.
Tried rebooting, resetting "in home streaming", disable win 10 firewall, all with no luck.
Which firmware version is your TV on? I'm having troubled with my KS8000.
I did that but refuse to connect to samsung servers when I try to download the app... any ideas?
