Test Steam streaming on Samsung TV!
Samsung is adding Steam Link functionality directly to their latest line of Smart TVs.
If you are in the United States and have a 2016 or 2017 Samsung UHD TV, we'd like to invite you to help test the Steam Link App, now available as a free beta from the Samsung Smart Hub.

The App uses the same streaming technology as Valve's Steam Link, allowing users to play their favorite games, and even spectate VR games on the HTC Vive, wherever they watch TV.

During the beta, playback of 1080p video at 60 FPS and support for the Steam Controller are included. For worldwide release later this summer, support for streaming 4K resolutions and additional controllers will be added.

Note: Streaming to the TV requires a Steam Controller and a high-quality network, at least 5GHz. A wired network is strongly recommended.

Please let us know how this is working for you and post feedback and questions on the Steam Link discussion forum:

When can we expect Europe availability for this beta? I have a 2016 Samsung UHD TV (UE55KU6070) but I unfortunately do not live in the states. I would love to test this as my TV and PCs are wired end-to-end.

hello, unfortunately I am not from US, so I can't test this new feature now, but I would like to ask you if this model will support it - Samsung KU6300, thanks

I live in Namibia in Southern Africa and I own the UE55KU7500 and I'd love to test. lets see if it is available on samsung hub. However I only own a wireless 360 controller and not a steam controller. Hopefully this compatibility will be added in the future.

Doesn't appear that my TV recognizes any hosts running Steam, even though my SteamLink box can connect no problem to my PC. PC, TV, and SteamLink are all wired and on the same LAN.

Maybe it works if you change your TV region? I haven't tried it yet.

If it's for Europe in the future then I'll be happy to beta test this on my Samsung smart tv :)
I already got a Steam controller and was waiting for the Link to go on sale, but this is better!

I have a 2015 1080p Samsung TV...
That TV supports GameFly stream service and not supports Steam streaming???
Thanks Samsung for the planned obsolescence for my "ancient" TV... :steamfacepalm:

Same issue. Installed on KS8000 through Samsung App store, PC running latest Steam client, both connected by CAT6 through router. In home streaming checked and unchecked, windows firewall checked, unsure what the issue is.

This is amazing. I don't have time to play a game right now but I downloaded the app and it was really easy to pair and start streaming. Latency seemed fine on my completely wired setup.

....?! What...the.......?
I bought the steam link just two weeks ago and I have two 2016 UHD Samsung smart TVs in my home.... (Also two steam links...)

The app is GREAT!

Even better than the actual steam link... BUT, My samsung ku6300 does not have BT support, and i have to play with a big ass USB cable...

Guys, if you do not live in the US, change your TV region to US, in the samsung TV's there is some kind of code on the remote... for mine (with the numerical standard control) is MUTE + 1 + 8 + 2 + POWER (your TV must be in the stand by mode)...

Some TVs are different, so just google it, and it will work just fine...

Nice Work DEV's.

BTW, do you guys know if the 2015 TV's will have that support either in the future? Or can ew just sideload the app via other ways?
