8BitDo SN30 Pro+ in Switch Mode has weak rumble/vibration

I've just picked up an SN30 Pro+ to use with my PC and phone. I was hoping to use Switch mode with my PC (so it supports gyro and all buttons) and XInput/DInput with my phone. This way I don't have to keep removing the device in windows and repairing to switch (thanks W10 bluetooth implementation...). When using the Switch mode on PC the rumble is significantly diminished, I'm guessing because Steam does something to the rumble signals to convert to the HD Rumble motors that the regular Pro controller has (but this controller doesn't). I noticed this on AC Odyssey where drawing the bow results in a fairly lengthy fast vibration with all controllers (including the SN30 Pro+ in XInput mode), but only a couple of low rumbles when using Switch mode.

Is there any way to get Steam to send regular vibration signals or adjust this? I couldn't see anything in the settings. I'm on the latest Beta Client version.
