I see
I'll try it out. Thank you for sharing some solution, even though, yes, it is a bit convoluted.
I've some questions...
One can export a layout, the option is there - but where actually will you find the exported file on your machine or where in Steam will that be stored?
And how would you then import that?
The next thing... how do you actually delete a layout?
The solution mentioned above doesn't bring me steps forward....
After exporting the renamed controller layout appeared in the directory mentioned below.
And I've found a different (even more cumbersome) workaround, in case that doesn't work:
- Go to: ...\[Steam Library directory*]\steamapps\common\Steam Controller Configs\[Steam User ID**]\config\675010
- Open the *.vdf file with a text editor, change the field 'title' (for your language) to your liking and save the change. (However, changes to 'description' won't be recognized. But having a meaningful title already helps a lot.)
*Note: Steam Library directory could be reviewed/changed by: Steam > Settings > Downloads > library directory**Note: Steam User ID/SteamID3 (not to be confused with the 64 bit SteamID) can be found here: Steam > your user name > Friends > Add a Friend > ID displayed (as 'Your Friend Code')
