Razer Wolverine v2 Chroma gets detected as Xbox One Controller

Hey, this is my first ever Thread so please bare with me, im currently having the issue that my Wolverine v2 gets detected as a xbox one controller, it works fine as that tho that also means that i cant't use any of the 6 other 6 mappable buttons. I have been looking for a few hours now and couldn't find any answers so i hoped someone here could maybe hel me get this to work, i would really love to custom map the keys for steam games.

the razer chroma has its own software but uses xinput which is why it shows up as xbox
make sure the keys are bound in software before steam
steam currently cant detect extra buttons on all 3rd party controllers
this might change
for now check with the razor site to see if they have a client to download and assign the buttons
my 8bitdo has the same thing need to use app for macros steam cant see the buttons yet

Thank you for the answer, yeah there is a program for the controller itself but excuse the way of wording this, its absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and false advertising imo, you can only assign already existing buttons on the controller to the extra buttons wich, in my opinion, makes these buttons completely useless, i was hoping someone maybe knows a workaround to have them active so i can assign keyboard binds to the controller

I think you'll have to ask Razer for this feature, if their own software doesn't expose the buttons and let you bind things other than controller inputs to them, then there's no way that Steam can do it. Looking at their software they don't support binding anything other than controller inputs. Which makes sense I suppose since it says it's designed for Xbox which wouldn't have keyboard or mouse inputs at all.

Hm, yeah seems like it, i have been doing some more digging for what i was looking for, i might have found a way to fix the problem i have, just need to add some mods for the game, still a huge thanks for your help and info and also those amazingly fast responses!
