Logitech F710 Controller wrongly detected as XBox Controller
Hey guys,

hopefully i am in the correct forum section. :-)
I bought a Logitech controller F710, but Steam is just recognizing this controller as Xbox controller, though my PC correctly sees the F710 (if this info is important).

This would not be a bigger issue if it wasnt for the different layout of F710 and XBOX controller. The crossbar is mixed up with the left stick, means the layout of the F710 is exactly like e.g. the PS4 controller while the crossbar on the XBOX is where my currently left stick is located.

This is a gamebreaker for me in FPS as currently i am not able to switch the setting. I already tried to change the layout but as steam is mixing up levt stick and crossbar i cannot assign buttons correctly.

Is there a possibilty to chnge the layout of the stick and crossbar.

Thank you!

The reason it shows Xbox is because it uses Xinput driver handshake.
Steam controller Configuration should allow you to make a template you can easily import into any game once you do fix it, so you only need to fix it once, save as template and import to any game.

i Just double checked, you can assign the 4 axis of the joystick and dpad to either input
Do it from controller configuration in the bar menu for any game with controller support and you will get the option to click the spot on an xbox controller you want it to be, which for you, means assigning each axis of the Joystick and setting up Directional pad the same way, you can click the picture.
Remember since the picture wont change to reflect the Logitech, you will need to remember the positions in the layout are flipped on left side of controller.
this solution should work with any offbrand controller but I confirmed it works with Logitech,

Also, some controllers, has an analog toggle button which may interfere with its stick positions.
