It actually is a general issue with controllers. The Xbox controller does work, but it's not working through Steam Input, so only default bindings.
Ahh I see that now. I don't typically play with controllers so I only did surface level testing. Upon trying to customize the config it did in fact not work.
Edit: ReWASD with the Steam Controller does work. So it's definitely specifically a problem with Steam input
Jesus how hard can it be to fix a controller input? Like five minutes, lol, holy fruck.
Unfortunately, it's not that easy. Will take some time to implement properly: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/features/steam_controller/getting_started_for_devs
Exactly, but I suppose it's not a bug with Steam Input, instead it's up to game developers to fix that. If so that would definitely take some time, they're a bit over theirs head in bugs. I've reported it via official STALKER 2 bug report sytem together with some other issues I've found so far, we'll see how it goes.
Can we get a bit of Steam Input team attention to check this thing out please? Would be really nice if your team can give GSC Game World devs some tips to make Steam Input work properly with STALKER 2. It seems borked currently.
There's a tool on github[github.com] that apparently fixes this issue for the Steam Deck, it says it was tested in Stalker 2.
I don't have a Steam Deck but I haven't been able to get it to work for the Steam Controller on Windows. Maybe it would work on Linux, but I don't have a Linux install to test that.
So for me, it's just continuing to use GlosSI, which presumably works because it's creating a virtual Xbox Series controller, which supports GameInput.
Fixed in the 1.1 patch, at least for Steam Controller (don't have anything else to test).
Confirmed: fixed for me too!
