Steam Controller BLE won't work with Amazon Fire Stick 2nd Gen

I have 2 Steam Controllers, and I tried both of them many times. The controllers show up when in BLE pairing mode (steam key + Y), but they never pair, just times out and controller powers off.

1. Amazon Fire Stick 2nd Gen works with few other bluetooth devices I tried.
2. Tried 2 different Steam Controllers, both giving same problem.
3. Tried 'Add Controller' on Fire stick, and the controllers don't show up. Tried 'Other bluetooth devices' and the above problem (doesn't pair) happens
4. The controllers can connect fine with my Android phone and Windows 10 laptop over bluetooth.
5. Latest beta Steam client is installed, and I have tried removing and adding back controller BLE firmware a few times already.

Any help would be very much appreciated..

About two years on and I wouldn't mind an answer to this too.
I have the firestick 4k and got the steam controller cheap a month ago, I'm all ready to stream play but I can't connect the controller and yes I have updated the controller. Thanks for any help
