PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller for the Switch
I've tried to look around and could not find a solution to my problem. I've tried to connect my enhanced wireless switch controller, but Steam is saying that there is no controller connected. I have Windows 10 and it detects the controller fine with its Bluetooth. Is it not going to detect like a Normal Pro Controller (since it's PowerA)? Would I have to connect it in a different form? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Just for a bit of extra information if you’re curious, whereas other third-party Switch controllers imitate the official Switch Pro Controller (and do work with our support for the Switch Pro), the new PowerA controllers are actually somewhat distinct controllers that require extra support that we’ve added to allow them to be used.

Alright, so do you know around when will this be implemented? Or is it just going to be part of the next beta for a while until further notice?

We should be starting a new beta in the coming week that will have support added to it. I’m not sure at the moment how long the beta will last but it would be a beta-only feature until the next public client release.

And just to clarify, as Austin said, support for the controller already been completed internally, its release is just pending on the next beta cycle starting.

Sorry, I was planning on adding support in an earlier beta but due to other changes wasn't able to. I'll have it in a beta release either tomorrow or early next week.

Hi again, we've just released a beta with support for the new PowerA controllers. If you haven't used a Steam beta release before you can find details for switching to it here:

Does this Beta work for the Wired variant of the controller as well?
mikela Dec 8, 2018 @ 2:02pm
Yes, it should work for both wired and wireless. The ones that we tested with were specifically the Enhanced Wireless Controller and the wired and wireless GameCube controllers. I saw where my original post could be a bit confusing so I updated it to reference all PowerA controllers, wired and wireless.

Recalibrate in general controller setings.

So I tried connecting my controller but it seems as if steam does not pick it up. It connects to my computer as i see it paired and can use it in some of my emulators as well. How to i set it up?

I checked your logs and it looks like you're using a variant of one of the other PDP Switch controllers that we have support for but the one that you have specifically is not one that we've seen before. I've added support for it and it should be available in the next beta that we release.

Hi so I realise this has been answered hear but I'm having the same problem. I just got a PowerA Enhanced Xbox One controller to replace my ageing 360 controller. Windows 10 is detecting it fine but Steam does not and it wont work for my steam games. I have opted in to the beta updates and still it does not work? I've searched the forums and this is the best discussion I could find relating to my problem.

So my question is " Does the added PowerA support include their Xbox controllers or it was just for Switch?
