BLE pairing with phone fails: invalid pin or passkey

ISSUE
I'm trying to pair my steam controller with the new bluetooth firmware to my Huawei P8 lite. I'm unable to pair, the phone says wrong pin or passkey, any workarounds?

Same problem here with my Huawei P8 lite. It worked fine for about 3-4 months and now it never connects, showing the message "wrong pin or passkey".

The problem is solved only by reseting the smartphone to factory defaults. Bad option, but its the only solution. I did it to my Huawei P8 lite and the steam controller now connects right.
