WARNING - New Steam Client update completely breaks Glossi for me

Title.
I turn on Glossi, my computer turns into an unresponsive mess, and I get 0.5 frames per second on my desktop. No way to open task manager, nothing but a hard restart fixes it.
Which means this update fundamentally breaks playing anything other than Steam Games, or using THEIR OWN CONTROLLER on anything else, which was working perfectly before.

First they absolutely RUIN Big Picture Mode's UI into some god awful menus, and now this.
I was literally playing a game 15 minutes ago with a controller+glossi, update the client, and now it's impossible to play the game, let alone use my computer. So now I can't play games that I'VE PURCHASED ON STEAM'S OWN STORE, because Steam Input doesn't work on games with external clients.

Is anyone else having this kind of problem, or is it just me?
I was literally playing a game just fine before the update. Now I don't know what I'm gonna do when I want to play it again.

Disabling the Steam Overlay on Glossi fixes the issue. Kinda mundane and obvious in hindsight, but I figure it might help someone.
Of course that means you can't edit layouts when Glossi is running though, which sucks.
I still blame Valve/Steam though.

glad or rather unglad to know i'm not the only one struggling with this issue. you are not alone. there are threads over in the steam beta feedback forum about this very topic too. and the devs are present in that thread too. I recommend you, and all of us (Steam controller users) to move over there to provide info so we can finally give this issue fixed.

from what i have read, the gyro issue seems to be present on a couple of other controllers too (Switch, PS).
