Steam Controller

Steam Controller

For all half controller + mouse users?
I've set up alot of games to use the left side of controller for movement and buttons, with mouse for aiming and buttons and then leftover keys on keyboard.

Holding the controller with left hand and balancing it on the desk with right hand on mouse was not comfotable, but gave me the best control that I wanted because I hate WASD to move, just doesn't feel natural like a joystick pushing in a given direction. Still like the precision of the mouse, so it worked to combine the 2.

This looks like it will blend the controller + mouse but be much more user friendly.

Hope the Steam controller pulls that off.

I also like this control method.. even though it's awkward.

I was thinking of getting something like this a while ago: https://world.splitfish.com/media/wysiwyg/PS3/All01_Kopie.jpg

Well, if the Steam controller fails to deliver, you could try a gameboard[www.google.co.uk] (aka "gaming keypad", etc.).

I have one of those, but it fell into disuse... I didn't even plug it back in the last system cleanup...
But great suggestion ..... I'm just waiting for November now I guess... but now that you got me thinking about it, I may dig it out to try some things...

The gameboard was on my radar for a while, but felt like it would take too long to get used to. The splitfish seems like it would fit the bill for the half gamepad and mouse, but with the steam controller being supported by many gamse, I think I'll hold out for that.
