Don't trust the list price; that's a number the seller made up. The MSRP back in 2016 was $50 USD
looks like a decent controller, but lacks trackpads, so it isnt the closest thing to a real one. the trackpads are the main feature of the steam controller, because even if you can find them a bit unsual, if you take a bit of time configuring them to your taste, and playing with settings, they can be really precise and fast. ie, depending how you set it, controlling the camera with a "trackball style settings" can allow better speed and more precise motion than when using the trackpad to try to emulate a "traditional" directional stick.
i was hoping they would keep the large and round trackpads, but improved them. anyway looks nice, but maybe the form factor of the original version still seems superior to me, at least relative to ergonomics.

This picture shares similarities with the Steam Deck. Minus the screen, it's pretty similar.
Nowadays there are lots of better controllers out there with a lot of things that this controller doesn't have. For example, there is the Nyxi Flexi and similar, that have modular parts, letting you switch the left stick and D-Pad ot switching the A B X Y buttons.
I myself bought a couple months back a EasySMX X20. It's like an Xbox One controller. YOu can switch between old DInput mode and XInput modes, it works on PC, Android and Switch. I tried it on PS3 and it works with the receiver.
yes, it seems also a bit big, and not very attractive imo. if they are truly going to making them more or less like that picture, i think they should copy nintendo and make it "splitable", and maybe each half with a gyroscopic sensor, so maybe they could also be used similar to vr controllers.
that could be interesting.
