Using left trackpad for joystic causing character to circle randomly?

Any tips on how to fix this? I went through the calibration to test everything. And it registers as working 100%. This is playing 3d third person games. Like Assassin Creed or 3d platformers.

Maybe add some dead zone in the middle?
