Do you need the steam link for your controller to work?

I was wondering if you had to buy both for it to work or just the controller?
I mean like If i wanted to use the controller on my PC do i need a steam link for it to work?

You shouldn't need to. The controller is made for all platforms steam is on. The link is just for if you want to stream your games from your PC to your TV

I mean like you'll need 2 Steam links, a Steam controller, and 2xbox 360 controllers. If you want to go ETIC you will need a DCK to PSY adapter and a length of T.I.T. cable.

You don't have to use the Steam controller. It can be used with an Xbox Controller, or KB&M

What about connection your storage arrays to your steam controller with a Twinax cable. The SC totally needs 40 gigabits of bandwidth. I also needed stick a wet fork in a light socket to charge it.
