Steam Controller Config for Star Wars Battlefront

I'm trying to get the SC to work with Battlefront, and it's not working out well. I start BF from Steam Big Picture, but the SC config doesn't seem to translate to the game.

Anyone have any success setting it up with Battlefront?

I had this same problem and just updated my post with how i got it to work. You have to update to the steam beta client, disable the origin overlay, link the Battlefront.exe (not Origin) to Steam, and then reboot for it to work. I'm running WIndows 7 and this is what got it working for me. Otherwise you don't get the proper overlay and the controller isn't recognized as a controller by the game.

For the right pad are you using Mouse or Mouse-Joystick? I find that Mouse-Joystick in this particualr game makes my character uncontrollable. My character just keeps turning around. But, if I use Mouse, I have trouble with flying.

my Steam Controller just arrived today and I bought it specifically to play this game from the couch.Can't wait to get in there. I'm sure I wont be able to hit anything for a few days but looking forward to the challenge.

Any tips?

I got it working, using the gyro as mouse while touching the pad, it aims very nicely, need to spend some more time fine tuning my controller setup to my happiness, though, I think that's on my plate for tonight!

This isn't working for me, I disabled in game notifications completely and the Origin overlay. I've been in steam beta for a while now, the link is to the starwarsbattlefront.exe file and i rebooted. Im on windows 10 and nothing I have done will work. T

The input is still as a mouse, and if i tap the steam button it brings steam up, and minimizes the game

EDIT: Got it working, I had to add the origin exe in the target for the steam shortcut. Odd because I tried that before. I also disabled origin start on boot, which may be what fixed it. Steam has to be the one to start the entire process it seems. Thats a bummer because origin won't update in the background until I open a game.

I think it was disabling Origin start at bootup that solved it. I did the same and this fixed it for me. It seems if Origin is running when you start the game from Steam then the overlay doesn't hook.

anyone got any suggestions on setups? I am using a small variation on the standard trackerball/giro with some changes on the sensitivity. But it was my first day yesterday so I am far from competitive. Although did come second top in one round.

Any tips would be welcomed with warm arms and a sweaty right thumb!

I disabled everything and added battlefront to steam but when i press the steam button on the controller i just get the big picture nothing to change the settings ingame anyone have a step-by-step guide i wanna try this with the controller

Also, make sure you are signed out of Origin BEFORE launching the game from Steam.
I also just uploaded my most recent profile for Battlefront (a bit different than the one in that vid, I'm rendering out a new vid now).
The profile is over at steamcontrollerdb site (I can't link to it here, steam will delete the link).

thanks for your reply i was actually watching your video before i seen you replied but is till dont get it i configure the controller in steam under star wars but the game doesnt seem to recognize it as a controller and still shows me mouse controls i noticed in your video it was coming up showing to press rb etc where mine says space to shoot

Try using my profile from the steamcontrollerdb site or make sure in steam you are choosing "gamepad" as the starter profile in Big Picture Mode and then make sure you SAVE a profile to be associated with Battlefront. It might be defaulting to your desktop profile which is mouse and keyboard emulation.

well now i find that i have logged off of origin when i try to start battlefront through steam it wont launch at all and wants me to sign into origin first

My origin signs on automatically and I have it set to exit and sign off when I close the game. I noticed that if I don't exit out of origin then steam will still show that I'm playing Battlefront even when I'm not.

Thanks for taking the time to help me out! really appreciate it! got it all working now wasnt saving controller to profile.. now i just need to figure out these instruction on how to set up your config file the gyro looks awesome
