Can't scroll in browser with left touchpad?

Hi,

I have seen that you should be able to scroll with the left touchpad in browser and other places. This does not work for me, I can only scroll with the left thumbstick. In settings the left touchpad is setup to scroll.
I have seen people using the right touchpad as a mouse in the menus too. This only works in the browser for me.

Any ideas? I use it on my Steam Link!

i frequently have issues with the scrolling thing. Im pretty sure its a software/firmware issue since the haptic feedback is working correctly.

i have the same issue it doesnt work in steam browser, not even getting haptic feedback, but works fine in web broswers on the desktop like chrome

It uses chiral scrolling, which confused me for a while. Once you realise, it works fine.

not getting any scrolling at all it worked to start with then all of a sudden stopped no feedback no scrolling at all, analog stick still scrolls but not the left dpad. working fine in desktop with steam open but not in steam browser at all

It comes and goes with firmware updates, I've noticed. It'll come back eventually. Not much you can do but just wait for them to fix it.

I just had this happen to me. I don't think it was from a firmware update, unless they happen while playing a game with the controller.

I was playing Trails in the Sky SC, went to big picture mode browser to find a solution to an in game riddle quest. Found my answer for the first part, went back to the game until I got to the next part. Went back to big picture browser and left track pad does not work for BROWSING (it works fine via virtual keyboard.

I can, however, click the left pad and use the right pad to do pinch-zoom gestures that work.

Confuzzled, I tried power cycling the controller (including discharging capacitors with batteries out), rebooting pc, checking steam for updates, and manually updating firmware.
I got nothing.

It works exactly the same everywhere else as far as I can tell, just not in big pictrure's browser.

Figured it out! Steam must be running. The window does not have to be open but the client needs to be running in the background. Hope this helps.

This works fine when the scroll gets stuck.. Thanks man
