I guess thanks valve? Could've labelled it but at least they included it, thanks guys.
There are three main types of USB connectors:
Normal USB - the fat, typical ones, metal sleeve has 4 squares cut in it (2 on each side, one side blocked by plastic and the other side is open)
Mini USB - Smaller than normal connectors, metal sleeve has 1 square cut in it (blocked by plastic) . Many devices use it, like your Playstation 3
Micro USB - Smaller than Mini connectors, metal sleeve has 2 lines cut in it on one side. By far the most common of the many other types of USB connectors. The Playstation 4 uses this for their controllers (and tons of smartphones and other devices).
So no, Valve is not "pulling" anything over you.
As you already found out, Valve likes The Legend of Zelda, because the packaged cable = "it's a secret of everybody".
