Steam Controller

What the hell does this thing use for a cord?
It doesn't come with one (is that seriously too much to ask for?) and it looked like a normal USB port at first, but I tried the spare one from my ps3 controller I was using as a pc controller and it wouldn't fit. What are you pulling here?

So beyond ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off right now that I might have to actually get dressed and go out in the damn rain and cold just to get a stupid wire for this because I hate batteries that I have to manually change out with a passion. Will someone at least make this slightly less of an annoyance by telling me what this thing expects? If it doesn't take a standard cord that comes with a ps3 controller I have no idea what to use.

Edit: it won't take the USB I use on my external HDD either (it's just a normal WD passport), really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ smooth valve, thanks a lot. >_>

It comes with a cable, in a blue sleeve in the bottom of the box. It's a standard USB micro.

There should be a usb cable in the box it is hidden in the corner in a little compartment! Good luck

Oh my god it literally was hidden in there, I actually almost tore the box trying to figure out where it was.

I guess thanks valve? Could've labelled it but at least they included it, thanks guys.

Took me three days because I never thought to ask. You're that much smarter than me. :P

"And the award for the best unintentional Easter Egg goes to . . . Valve!"

It's a standard type of USB cable.

There are three main types of USB connectors:
Normal USB - the fat, typical ones, metal sleeve has 4 squares cut in it (2 on each side, one side blocked by plastic and the other side is open)
Mini USB - Smaller than normal connectors, metal sleeve has 1 square cut in it (blocked by plastic) . Many devices use it, like your Playstation 3
Micro USB - Smaller than Mini connectors, metal sleeve has 2 lines cut in it on one side. By far the most common of the many other types of USB connectors. The Playstation 4 uses this for their controllers (and tons of smartphones and other devices).

So no, Valve is not "pulling" anything over you.

As you already found out, Valve likes The Legend of Zelda, because the packaged cable = "it's a secret of everybody".
