Get yourself a copy of epsxe latest and unpack it.
http://www.epsxe.com/
get a copy of pokopom - xinput plugin and extract it to the plugins folder
http://ngemu.com/threads/pokopom-xinput-pad-plugin.145013/
create a inis folder under epsxe folder
go here http://ngemu.com/threads/peteopengl2tweak-tweaker-for-peteopengl2-plugin-w-gte-accuracy-hack.160319/ and grab latest one (as of now gpuPeteOpenGL2Tweak22.bin.zip)
unpack it in the plugins folder
setup epsxe to use PeteOpenGL2 Tweaks 2.2 (name might change with later updates)
make sure you have Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.9 (in plugins folder)
http://www.pbernert.com/html/gpu.htm#OGL2
Run epsxe once and check so game starts fine.
now enter epsxe\inis and open "gpuPeteOpenGL2Tweak.ini"
find the section at the bottom labeled [PadPlugin] and change the 2 lines below to this
Port1 = plugins\padPokopom.dll
Port2 = plugins\padPokopom.dll
now add epsxe as a non steam game and fire up BPM. Configure your steam controller to game pad mode and enjoy latest epsxe with your steam controller.
are you talking about project64? Then it shouldn't see the controller but the controller will work when you launch a game within project64 (you must launch project64 trough steam and has it configured to game pad). Desktop/game pad mode does not work so don't try to use that.
Yes, I tried setting the rom as a steam shortcut too, the shortcut launches from steam bpm but the pj64 windows doesn't have the steam overlay locked to it like one would expect. This appears to be causing the bpm controller settings on that shortcut to not holding when the shortcut is running (also set to gamepad), it just reverts to desktop controls after opening the rom (on desktop keyboard works but not gamepad).
I can't get this to work.
This is my process:
- Launch Project 64 through steam
- Open rom (Banjo Kazooie for example)
- Close rom with F12
- ?? I can't edit any settings in Project 64 for my steam controller, this is what I get: http://i.imgur.com/b57XzQm.jpg
Any help? :)

Where do I find that option? :)

It is checked by default and you uncheck it to switch to a focus based game detection scheme. In Dolphin, PCSX2 and DesMuME I have an action set for menus and such with another for games so I don't lose smooth mousing and such for game loading. For PJ64, you will still have to have a KB and Mouse on hand anyways since the SC will have to be off in order to load a game. So load PJ64 normally with the SC on and this option off, Configure controls, Close the emulator, turn off the SC, Load the emulator and one game first, turn the SC on. From there it will work as normally. You can even F12 close the game and load another without turning the SC off.
