Can you have a "sniper button"?
You know how some mice let you reduce their movement sensitivity while you're pressing a certain button? I wonder, if you can set up the SC to do the same. So my question is:

Can you set up a button, say a backside one, to reduce the sensitivity of one or both of the trackpads while you're pressing it? So that when you release it, everything is back to normal?

I'd think that'd be handy, so you can have high sens for movement and low sens while aiming, all at the press of a button, instantly.

Or to go really crazy: map sensitivity to one of the triggers, and the more you press it, the lower the sensitivity becomes (with a certain floor value it won't go below), and then the button at the end of it will trigger the shot. Might be very awkward to use though.

If I understand it correctly, you can do it like this.
Left pad as mouse (Default more or less).
Mode shifting > Style of input: Mouse > set lower sensitivity settings > Mode shift button: Right grip for example.

The latest update has a mouse dampening feature which does your "really crazy" suggestion. Look for it in the advanced options of either the trigger or pad bindings; I can't remember which.

Before that was added, I used one of the grips as a mode shift for the right pad, but kept all of the settings exactly the same in both modes except for the sensitivity. This works like a sniper toggle, although it's a little cumbersome to have it on the same hand if you're switching all the time.

I'll just be lazy and link a post on this subject: https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamController/comments/3py7jb/sniping_button_possible/

Not possible right now, but your idea on gradual sensitivity based on trigger position is a nice idea, though.

But would it work like a trigger? Like, only WHILE you're holding it down. Not like: "tap once = sens high, tap again = sens low".

P.S.: I don't own a SC yet, just evaluating the possibilities.

For my suggestion, yes. That is how it would work. Mode shifting requires the button to be held down. At least last I checked :p

Ok, cool. Thanks for the clarification.

@Alexander Prime: That's sick. :D
