Is there a way to bring up the onscreen keyboard at will?

I'm curious how to bring it up when I need it. What am I missing? Is there a way to activate it while playing a game, inside the game interface? Would be great for chatting in something like a MMO or the like.

Hold the center "Steam" button, and press Select.

I made the mistake for a while of trying to press them both at the same time. Make sure it's one and then the other.

Is there any way to get this to work outside of big picture? If I could just use the keyboard on the desktop it would make the absolute perfect HTPC keyboard and mouse.

Once the Keyboard is visible, you can change the corner of the screen it is on by repeatedly pressing "X".

I knew the second (screenshot). I hope there will be more or a way to set them. I like the idea of using the steam button + [...] for system commands.
Right now I'd like to configure the steam button a little. Holding it, disables the controller but if BPM is not enabled, it starts. If it's on, the system-menu appears but if you choose to return to desktop the controller is still enabled and disabling it (holding steam button) enables BPM again -.-

All of these bindings are now configurable via the Guide Button Chord Configuration in the controller settings ;)

There's also steam button + left stick (up/down) to increase or lower the system volume, which is honestly huge.
