How to use wasd (moving)

I do not want to remap keys. Does not seem to be any way to move right, left, forward and reverse. Analog will at best only up the telephone or the like in the game.

Remapping is what this is about. If you dont want to do that, do yourself a favor and stick with a 360 controller..

You all meant that Steam Controller does not fit the common users? The movement works in controller settings but not in games. I think the steam controller more is suitable for HTPC and perhaps a few Steam games that are adapted for the control. Its a very good mouse emulator in desktop mode, but you must have Steam in background.

I try this in MW3 but remapping was needed. In GTA IV it was useless.

You realize that, Portal 2 aside, there are NO GAMES designed for this controller? Don't you? If by "common user" you mean someone who is too lazy to do a bit of fiddling here and there, than yes, this is not for you. I can't however, imagine someone so increabily indolent that they a bit of configuration here or there would turn them off from something. For christ sake if nothing else you can wait for someone to make a better profile!

You're going to have to use the steam controller configuration interface to use this controller properly, this is how it was designed.

Not easy to find any controller configuration interface :) I still think the Steam controller = Fiasco for common user and this is the big dealbraker for Steam machine :)

Yes its common known that employer on stem hook on the forum and spews bile against people who are critical rather than help. Where in he.. can you get a meaningful controller configuration interface rather then the joke in "Big picture" mode?

I think you need to reassess your definition of "common user". I doubt you are in it. We're both uncommon users, but on different ends of the spectrum.

I see on other tread that its not only me with same problem. But fantastic controller to a HTPC and the right touch is wonderful precise. But if you cant move in the game...

Maybe there's some miscommunication going on here. Are you trying to say that you can't move in any game, at all, or just that you don't want to have to configure the controller before you can move.

If it's the former, we can probably help you troubleshoot a fix. If it's the latter, and you don't even want to pick "Gamepad" from the presets, you may have bought the wrong controller.

Yes I bought the wrong controller. I want a controller I can play with.

Someone ho can map the bumbers. Mine is dead in every game settings, not rely dead but can only be use to get the telephone or game-map? And in car games the left trigger to brake cant map ether. And pleas Steam if you read this. Tips on wsda-movmens settings to the controller on analogue stick gone be great.

Jon, are you using Big Picture mode to launch your games? It seems like your controller is stuck in 'desktop' mode.

Big Picture mode. I hope its only me ho have problem because I really like the controller and don't want it to be a "hardware fly" that came and then disappeared.

Therefore I am right now is very critical like people was with "the Microsoft desktop killer" Windows 8 when it came.
