DosBox with the Steam Controller?
Has anyone tried playing games on DosBox using the Steam Controller? Does it even work?

There is a known bug stopping dosbox games working with the controller :(

How about DosBox on Android? It's been confirmed to work on Android, but will it work on the Android version of DosBox?

Yes, but you would have to map the buttons yourself. The controller shows up as a mouse+keyboard by default.

I got it working by setting graphic output in DosBox to OpenGL.

Thanks Mod. I'll have to try that when my controller arrives.

Very interesting controller but... I have tried playing dosbox steam games "Dark Forces" and "Doom" without luck. Is Valve going to fix this? Pretty please :(.

Not a valve issue but did you see Modhelius' message? It does work using opengl (I tested fine on Tie Fighter) - you just need to open up the dosbox config file for the game and change the output line to output=opengl (may be be set to output=surface by default) and save the file :)

Can't believe how well Doom on DosBox feels with the Steam Controller, it just works! Can't wait to test it on my phone.

I have a thread, have you found any games that won't accept input or somethjing. I'm on my sons tablet or I would link it. In there is a fix for earthworm Jim 1 and 2. They are both dos box and it works with most dosbox games I have tried. Make sure you use a recent dev build and I think direct 3d output is more workable with the overlay.

Just came back to report that the Steam Controller does not work with DosBox on Android at all. The Android version of DosBox fails to recognize the Steam Controller therefore does not allow you to edit key bindings.

It's android... Not a supported platform. You, my friend, are on your own.
