battery cover?
is it just me or does the battery cover not sit flush against the back of the controller? even when its snapped back on its popping out at the same time?

The battery cover is actually the two paddle buttons, so it can't sit flush.

That's how it's supposed to sit. The gap you are seeing are the paddle buttons on the back. If you press them they should click.

From looking at your photo, I don't think you have the batteries in all the way. ;) Push them in harder.

No. You put the cover on. The cover acts as the paddle buttons when it is on.

Hold the controller like normal, squeeze the battery cover on one side. Hear the click? That is one of the buttons.

It fits poorly because the battery cover needs to be able to flex to activate the buttons (right under the side gaps). Personally, I think it is a poor design that will have questionable reliability, but it is what it is.

Yeah, those flaps are buttons. That's how it's suppose to be.

You're lucky you got a battery cover ... Mine was missing from the box when it arrived.
Very poor show Steam / Valve!
