Steam Controller

Sensitivity
So I got my controller about an hour ago, set it up, zero problems, started playing Portal 2. What I'd like to know is if (and how) it's possible to change the sensitivity on the right pad (camera) as I'm finding it's that little bit too responsive.

Uhm yeah of course. Got to the settings, select the pad, change sensitivity.

Rather obvious actually.

You need to press the steam icon button on the controller to bring up the options.

If I bring up the controller options, it lets me choose the actions, and then switch them around, I'm not seeing anything that screams "Configure pad" at me.

I know I keep posting this in multiple threads, but when you say it's rather obvious nobody has explained why I'm not seeing anything like that in Big Picture settings. Only a very minimal settings page: http://i.imgur.com/qVuMyBY.png

Do I have to actually be running a game in order to calibrate the controller and set up the haptic feedback?

Okay, so I found it. Sorta. In my game, I push the jewel, brings up the controller. Selected the controls the pad deals with, it brings up another menu, and there you can control sensitivity via slider. A really clunky slider. That seems to be way low and terrifies me when I consider it higher.

Instead of setting the controller slider really low try setting Portal 2's in game sensitivity lower.

Are you guys getting to the controls on Steam OS or in Windows? No matter where I hit the "Home" button in Windows I don't get a controller settings window.
launch the game in big picture mode, while in game hit the steam jewel logo button thingy, manage game, configure controller, and then you will see this

what mouse settings look like: http://i.imgur.com/Y3QVjXc.png

alternatively you don't HAVE to be in game, you can also do this by selecting it and hitting manage / config

the reason for this is because they intended every game to have its own settings. Shame there aren't 'default' settings.

Don't forget too that you can adjust Acceleration in your pad settings. Between Acceleration and Smoothing you can drastically change how the sensitivity works. It's all going to depend on your playing style. When I play a FPS, I like to turn Acceleration and Smoothing all the way up and put my Sensitivity really low. This way I can move quickly when I have to but when my finger moves slowly over the pad I have a more precise control.
