Steam Controller

Steam Controller

Set selector
Hi guys. I used xpadder for a log time. Now I got my shiny steam controller. But I have no idea how to setup a set selector. With set selector I mean the following situation
I got my skills 1-4 on the abxy buttons
If I now tap and hold the left shoulder trigger now I have my skills 5-8 on the abxy buttons. Once I release the shoulder trigger I am back to use skill 1-4 again.
Is this possible with the steam controller? Thanks for any help.

You can use the Mode shift function to achieve that same thing on steam controller. Mode shift the abxy buttons.
There is also a way to show onscreen icons to select from using steam controller. Check out Gormash's 101 Guide in he Guides section for more info.

Cool thanks dude

Yeah, it's possible but not quite as robust as Xpadder. For now it can only be while holding the "shift" button. You can't have it go to a new set on a tap like in Xpadder and you also can't assign taps and holds on a button yet like in Xpadder. I'm desperately hoping they expand the features more. If you check out a game that has native Steam Controller support you can see that they can add in all sorts of sets. In Kerbal Space Program theres a flying set of controls, editor set, menu set, etc. If something like Arma had that support, it'd make it so much easier to make a profile for it.

I hope they expand the controller customization to be as powerful as the xpadder. Switching sets on tap is a supercool feature. If it already works in steam games there is a ray of light they add it in an update ;) Thanks for the input.

OK I have played around with mode shifting a bit ... and I have to say - I am deeply sorry - but it is shabby.
You can't have multiple mode shifts. Like influencing the abxy buttons differently with each shoulder button. You cant modeshift on tap - only on holding the regarding button.
In comparison to the xpadder + xbox game pad the current customization options are weak.
I like the steam controller but I will jump back to the xbox pad and oogle my steam controller with the evil eye until they expand it.

Yeah. I keep getting requests to make an Arma 3 profile for it because people seem to really like my xpadder Arma 3 profile. I've tried but i just can't get it anywhere near as robust as my xpadder profile. I really hope they add in more options.

OP have you tried Touch Menu?
IlsaTheShewolf Jan 28, 2016 @ 11:14am
The touch menu is very cool. But as far as I understood it it is more suited to navigate through menu options ... it may be fuzzy to select 8 or even 16 different skills like needed in a mmorpg and use them via the touch menu. Or do you have a tip/ experience how to use it for a purpose like that?

But see - with features like the touch menu.. the steam controller could be so ultimately powerful if they would just update it a bit.
