[Mac] Modifier keys (Ctrl, Shift, Alt) still not working from the controller

I think it's been brought up but since the Steam Controller was released in October months ago I've had this issue and it still hasn't been fixed halfway through January 2016.

Any game where I have to use the shift, alt or ctrl keys and have them bound to buttons or whatever on my Steam Controller, it simply doesn't work/send the process into the game. If I use the keys on my keyboard while the game is running in the same mode and it'll work no problem, but on the controller, no dice. I could probably do a long-winded workaround involving changing the key bindings in each game to stop using modifier keys, but that would mess it up when I wanted to use keyboard and mouse. I just can't understand why months later the ability to use the modifier keys still hasn't been implemented.

Is there any news on a fix for this? The issue's been there for a long long time and makes a lot of games' functionality very limited. Sort it out Valve, yeah?

What is this 'alt' key you speak of on a Mac? I know there's command, control, and option... But alt? Heresy!

Cant u just plug in any old KB into a MAC? Maybe it says alt for him? I dont know, Last MAC I used was a old school I-Mac G3 when Macs were still good.* :P

Technically my option key does also say Alt! Plugging in a USB keyboard won't fix it, it must be a basic OS X issue related to input. And no need for your last comment, cammelspit thanks!

HA! I have been in a mood. MACs seem to be the thing to poke fun at these days. :D

Seriously though, there has been some major issues with SC and MAC support in general since day one. I guess this is just another one to add to the list i guess.

Also the COMMAND key isn't represented on the list of keyboard keys that the controller can trigger. Sucks cuz some games do use the CMND key.

So no SHIFT, CTRL, ALT (aka OPTION), CMND, or FN. You just can't trigger those keys from a Steam Controller. Please Steam, rectify this oversight!

I agree, this really needs to be brought to Valve's attention. I would have expected this to have been fixed by now (Not to mention that the Steam Controller is still not recognized as a controller by OS X).

Really frustrating to find myself here because I can't bind the command key on my mac (and can't alter in-game bindings to get around it). Steam should provide a time frame for this to be corrected as it makes many game unplayable.

Also frustrating that so many controller set ups provided by game devs, do not work and on a Mac my controller just doesn't see the default ones - having to rebind all my own has been difficult seeing as I've never done anything like this before.
