joystick not fully working
On both of my controllers the joystick does not fully steer (tilt? press?).
I first noticed it in Rocket League when turning left. Sometimes my car wouldn't turn as sharp as they should and other times I'd miss a left barrel roll. When I go to add/test controllers and press Y for support, it runs through the test. Press triggers, check., Touch entire surface of left and right track pad, Check. Rotate joystick in a circle... won't accept. I'm stuck there. The joystick won't register 100% steering I guess.

Anyone else with this issue? BOTH of my controllers are now experiencing this. Was about to return thinking it was hardware but I'm having doubts on that now.

If it won't calibrate, that sounds like faulty hardware or firmware. Do you have the newest firmware update? I would try making sure you have that(maybe a few other things,), and if all else fails, you will need to replace it.

A guy with the username camelspit(hopefully I spelled that right) seems to know a lot about the SC. Hopefully he can be of more help.

This is the 2nd post I've seen in a couple days about the same thing - no left/right in rocket league.

Is it only with rocket league? (Do other games work ok)?

Hmm, I wodner if Rocket League is somehow messing up the software for the SC, and causing this problem.

Same problem.
Two more threads on this:

It's really terrible. With this bug I play like a drunken Semi-Pro with two left hands and get therefore ridiculed a lot in RL. "Can't you hit the ball once?!" "Wow!" "OMG!" "What a save!"
It's really bad.

I have a question for anyone else with this issue.
Did you calibrate the controller BEFORE seeing this issue? I don't remember this issue until I tried calibration just to see how steam handled it. Curiosity may have killed the cat here..
I've tried calibrating after the issue. Firmware is latest. Both controllers are having the same issue but it isn't constant. Going into add/test and pressing Y for support to test function shows this problem sorta comes and goes. When it is happening, it fails the rotate joystick test (can't pass it but yellow dot looks like its 100%). It was originally happening with 1 of my controllers. I filled out the return form. Two days later It was happening again with my other controller. I checked serial #'s thinking I may have mixed up controllers. It was def 2nd controller. Went to test and it failed joystick rotate,
Turned on 1st controller and tested, now it passed joystick rotate. tried 2nd again and it still failed.
Hard to believe it is hardware. This is the only controller where self calibration doesn't test joystick rotate to calibrate. Only tests joystick rotate during "support" test.

The problem was solved with the recent firmware update.

OMG thank god I'm not the only one! To me though, it seems like the problem BEGAN with the most recent firmware update. It's only left turning, and it has caused me to miss left flips and whiff on faceoffs, when I need just a quick little left flick to get on target.

I have calibrated, changed batteries, gone through the support routine, everything. I want to try reverting to the previous firmware, since I only started noticing this today, but I don't know how.

I REALLY hope there's a fix, because I just spent three days sucking at Rocket League while I learned the SC, and I can't go back to not having the grip buttons!

With the new (Jan 15) firmware update, I got this issue when running the 'Support' tests. Removing the controller batteries for a couple of minutes, then replacing them, resolved the issue. Does it help you?

Haven't tested new firmware fully yet. Played earlier for 5 minutes and didnt notice the issue...

BongMang, I have found the issue comes randomly and stays until I turn off the controller. Sometimes I find it when I first start playing, other times it seems to kick in and then stays...

Here's what seems to have worked for me:
I follwed the instructions here:

I flashed the "firmware [D81AD7BC].bin" version. I tried the other first because it was more recent but it had the problem, too.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the problem is really fixed. It's been great for the last few hours anyway.

Bad new... new firmware didnt fix.

Going into add/test and support clearly shows the problem during joystick test. You can see the yellow dot indicator move slightly in on the left side of the circle. Left to lower left area to be exact.
So its not a game specific issue. It is certainly the controller.

The good news (at least for me) is that old firmware did fix it. Hopefully they'll have it sorted out for the next version, but I'll stay on this old one for as long as it takes.
