TLDR version: Yes but its very game specific and you will need to set up each function just as you would for PC games. I do it all the time so it's doable.

Nice guide Cammerspit, actually already have it working here but this guide could have save met a lot of time.
p.s. would be nice to have this guide in the SteamOS wiki to: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/SteamOS/wiki/
But the wiimote part was missing, so i didn't know if you managet to get it to work like a wiimote or it would work like a regular controller with Dolphin.
Still, i gues because of the nature of the Steam controller, i do have more options than i would have using some other controller. For example, those shake inputs were cumbersome to do in a controller like an Xbox360 where you have limited buttons and the game has a lot of different ones you need to bind. Maybe they built in an "universal" wii motion button, i's been a long time since i used Dolphin.
Also, what do you mean by SC not having "shake" input? I though stuff like that could be replicated with the gyro, or does that require specific code on Dolphin's part?
It's too bad that the Dolphin team don't want to program for it. It would be a nice addition to the emulator.
Thanks for the info! Good luck on continuing your work. I look forward to reading it.
In the meantime, i guess i'll download Dolphin and mess with it myself, see what i can come up with.
@Green This is assuming Windows. As I stated in the guide it may be applicable to MAC/Linux/SteamOS too but I dont think putting it on a SteamOS WIKI is prudent if it's not a SteamOS centric guide. Glad you like it though!
There is no difference in a guide for windows or SteamOS, because basically everything is done from the dolphin or steam interface. But doesn't matter, thanks for the guide.
