Sorry about that I had to do this for BF3
you may have to run steam.exe (steams own exec not just OS as admin)as admin
Cheers
MartyWF
its worth a try...
starting steam as admin helped me through some issues too....
good luck ;)
Have you added bf4 as a shortcut or did you add origin launcher.
Am I correct in assuming that the game-specific config works for you? If that is the case I suspect that both my issues are related. Not that I have any idea of how to fix it. Possibly I set up the shortcut incorrectly, but it does start bf4 correctly and the controller sort of works.
I added the origin launcher as the shortcut.
The controller seems to work ok in Fallout 4, maybe this is an issue with non-steam games?
Windows 10?
1. Make sure origin is not running already. I killed it in the Task Manager and disabled it on startup. Possibly there's confusion if it's started on boot since it is then not started through steam. Unsure if this did anything, but it's a change I did.
2. Disable "Enable Origin In Game" in Origin (Origin->Application Settings->Origin In Game).
Most likely this is what did the trick.
Now the game specific configs works and setting the left stick as an analogue joystick for movement works. Wohoo!
nb. Steam had an update since yesterday as well, unsure what impact it had.
1)You must make sure Origin settings are to close on game start (right click on game in Origin and go to the properties to change),
2) Disable Origin overlay (In origin settings)
3) Exit Origin.
4) Restart Steam by running as Admin (I needed this others havn't)
5) Open Big Picture
6) Run Battlefield
This is assuming you have already added Battlefield as a non steam game.
